- Entrepreneurial Life in an Old Wind City Building
Red bricks, roof tiles, a dream treehouse, and a cat village.
Treehouse Cafe & Bistro (飛行樹屋咖啡) Tucked away inside Hsinchu—a bustling high-tech hub—lies Hainan Village, a charming little military dependents' village. Here, you’ll find a tank park, enchanting old alleys, a cafe lovingly restored from a red-brick ruin, a string-lit treehouse, a miniature treehouse for cats, and a beautiful garden. This is where a young girl turned her childhood daydreams into reality, hoping to inspire everyone who visits to reconnect with their own childhood dreams.
Beyond specialty coffees and international dishes, we offer the "Coffee & Poetry" series. By pairing our house-roasted specialty coffee with selected poems, we craft unique flavors tailored for solitary moments and quiet contemplation, giving the coffee a soulful, relatable life of its own. The cafe also currently offers tarot readings and Henna body art services.
Treehouse Book & Bed (樹屋書店) Once situated along the beautiful city moat (and now relocated to the Cat Village), Treehouse transformed a historic building intertwined with a century-old banyan tree into an overnight bookstore. Inspired by the Japanese "Book & Bed Tokyo" concept, it blends a Tsutaya-style Japanese bookstore with cozy beds hidden behind the bookshelves. It offers night owls and travelers a place to fall asleep accompanied by books under the beautiful night sky of the Wind City. Here, you can grind and brew your own cup of house-roasted coffee, savoring a good book alongside a great brew—a story unique to Hsinchu.
